  • This record describes gravity data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2014_E02. The sea trial included two legs, both from Hobart to Hobart, with Leg 1 between 28th October to the 1st November and Leg 2, 1st November to the 6th of November. Gravity data is collected onboard using a MicroG Lacoste Air-Sea system II. Data are stored in .ENV and .DAT files at CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. There are 19 files totaling 143 MB of raw data in this dataset. At wharf calibration data file is in CG5 subdirectory. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the GSM data acquisition and processing report.

  • This record describes data from the : Cloud Condensation Nuclei Counter (CCN) collected on the Marine National Facility RV Investigator Event voyage IN2015_E01. This was a cold-water trial voyage for the RV Investigator departing Hobart on the 29th January and returning to Hobart on the 18th of February, 2015. The CCN was performed using instrument DMT CCN100. It measures the number of particles that are able to form CCN at 0.05% supersaturation. Calibrations carried out by voyage scientists.

  • This record describes echosounder data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2015_E01, which departed Hobart on the 29 Jan 2015 and returning to Hobart on the 19 Feb 2015, after successfully testing equipment at 65° south. The Simrad EK60 split beam echosounders 38, 70, 120, 200 and 333 KHz were used to acquire water column and bathymetry data between Hobart and Antarctica. Data are stored in *.raw *.bot and *.idx format at CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. There are 906 files totalling 43.1 GB of raw data in this dataset. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the GSM data acquisition and processing report.

  • This record describes data from the The Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometer (PTR-MS) collected on the Marine National Facility RV Investigator Event voyage IN2015_E01. This was a trial voyage for the RV Investigator departing Hobart on the 29th January and returning to Hobart on the 18th of February, 2015. The Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometer (PTR-MS) is an online instrument which measures a wide range of atmospheric volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in real time, including dimethyl sulphide, isoprene, monoterpenes and a range of oxygenated VOCs.

  • This record describes multibeam echosounder data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2015_T01, which departed Hobart 2015-05-10 and arrived Sydney on 2015-05-13. The Kongsberg EM122 multibeam echosounder was used to acquire seafloor bathymetry and backscatter information along the east coast slope from Hobart to Sydney. Ping rate varied according to depth. Data are stored in *.all raw format at CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere. There are 65 files totaling 2.6 GB of raw data in this dataset. Sound velocity profiles using sea surface temperature were applied to this data during data acquisition. Tide corrections were not applied to the processed data. Processed data are available in XYZ and GSF format. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the GSM data acquisition and processing report. Additional data products available on request.
